Situation in Afghanistan
The allied evacuation mission resulting from the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan ended on 31 August 2021. There are still thousands of Afghans being targeted by the Taliban and/or ISIS-K because of they work they did for and alongside international organizations to promote peace and democratic values in Afghanistan.
This will not end in the near term.
Some of the people left behind have visas to leave, however missed the evacuation window...many will not have visas due to a number of factors (including because they can't read or write English and therefore could not fill out the forms), yet worked with international organizations and are therefore at risk.
A Humanitarian Mission
The mission of the OTX Project is to get Afghans to safety who are or will be targets for execution or imprisonment by the Taliban and/or ISIS-K because they worked with or alongside international organizations.
The members of OTX believe we have a moral obligation to help those Afghans who are left behind avoid death, to get them out of harm’s way...
...to get them "Off the X".
OTX Project will not take money from people who need our help. Instead, we are raising funds to pay for the long-term upkeep of the Project and the tools we will need to run it, while we await the formation and approval of a dedicated 501(c)(3). Funds will be used for:
This effort is being run by Afghan patriots who fear for the safety of their friends and families.
They are advised by a multinational group of military and intelligence community veterans, including from:
